I have been awarded a one year working grant from Konstnärsnämnden, the Swedish Arts Grants Committee.

I will use this precious time given to me to experiment and examine the properties of these paper thin sheets of glass. I want them to become the bearing structure of the object as well as the decoration.

Biotope Residue IV, An hommage to Ojnareskog, Gotland, Sweden, 2012

These are my first comments on the horrendous exploit of Ojnareskog at Gotland in 2012, where Biotopes were cleared out inorder for the company Nordkalk  to carry out their Lime quarrying activities in the area. The series Biotope Residue is my interpretation of  the future biological remains of that forest.

Flow

I am working towards the upcoming exhibition at Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation, Bornholm showing during the European Glass Context of 2012. I was rewarded a scholarship from IASPIS and I intend to show a new range of work, much different from earlier work. I have set myself som rules and limitations in order to force myself to find new paths and new more fragile expressions. The delicate and frail have always accompanied me on this journey and they still do. But I have already met skin, interruption, rupture and meltdown.

It is indeed fascinating how we percive glass. Our" tought" freight for breaking the breakable just by looking at skin thin glass is a challenge that I want to take on and change. I wish to scare, wish to place doubt and confusion in the eye of the beholder.
Will it breake? Will it fall? -Come closer let your mind touch your fear and sneeze the dust of this dusty glass skin of mine.

All that remains

time to gather all the pieces
time to mend
time to bend
time to lend,
my hands to another era of fractions.
erasing, brushing, smashing, caressing, falling, hitting, mending, polishing
...the humble truth of my imagined reality
